1. Matterhorn
Matterhorn is most favourite among hiking enthusiasts. It is near border of Italy and most majestic peak in Europe. It takes around 10 to 12 hours to reach the peak and you will need all professional equipment here. Matterhorn was first climbed by Edward Whymper nearly 150 years ago. June to September is favourable time for hiking.
2. Bachalpsee
Bachalpsee is in the Jungfrau region and is known for being famous among skier, mountaineers and photographers. Bachalpsee is also very popular to tourists due to it’s stunning beauty. Hikers have choice of easy to hard trails to choose from Jungfrau. It takes around 6km hike and considered to be easy. Lauterbrunnen, Interlaken and Grindelwald are favourite bases for exploration.
3. Jungfraujoch
It will take around 2.5 hours train journey from Interlaken to reach the base. It is one of the costliest and popular summit in Switzerland. 4. Mount Titlis
Mount Titlis is in the Uri Alps region and easy to climb. There are hiking routes that takes short routes of one hour to three hours. The easiest route is from the north side. 5. Mount Pilatus
Mount Pilatus is medium to hard to hike and it is in the Lucerne region. You will find a lush green trail to the peak. Either you can walk or take the cogwheel lift to go easily to the top. You can hike from Alpnachstad or take a gondola from Lucrene. Mount Pilatus is considered one of the best places for hiking in Switzerland. Once at the top you have many trails to explore several peaks leading to mesmerizing view.
6. Monch
Monch – being one of the biggest and hard to hike mountain Monch is 4170 meters high. Monch is in Bernese Alps region and a favourite mountain to rock climber. You have five routes to choose from, take professional guides help to climb. As Monch is nearby to Jungfrau and Eiger and both of them are famous, several hotels and resorts available to stay.
7. Schwarzhorn
Schwarzhorn is going to give you a 360 degree view of the nearby places and it will take prior hiking experience. The hiking route is nearly 8.5 km and you can get gears on rent. To reach Schwarzhorn you can take First gondola. The gondola starts from center of town to the First which is a vast basin area. If you wish to hike and reach here it will take 3 hrs hiking. Please note last gondola down is at 6 pm sharp.
